This is the second of three from Seeburg with the TALL cabinet. The Q preceded and the DS followed.  For many years this style jukebox wasn't a big seller for us.  But now with the "war babies" and "baby boomers" remembering back to their youth, they've come into demand.

Scary as it may seem, this beauty is 50 years old at this writing (2011).

We've seen quite a resurgence lately in the '60s era jukes that still look like jukeboxes and these were the last of them from Seeburg.  After these tall models all brands followed Seeburg with lower profile cabinets.

All three of this model could sound good and be very dependable.  The exception for dependability was with the Auto Speed units that came in them.  They were supposed to control the 45 and 33 1/3 RPM of the records. The units had real problems and most were tossed.

We took a trip to Las Vegas to get this one.  As we understand, a baby boomer had it reconditioned in Las Vegas, but most of the innards weren't necessarily done correctly.  The seller couldn't make it work when we got there.  What surprised us was that he was preparing to offer it on eBay as a rebuilt working machine.  I feel sorry for the unsuspecting bloke who might have bought it and paid for shipping and not have it work upon arrival.

We actually purchased 2 machines from this fellow in Las Vegas.  The reason we went all the way up to Vegas was for the condition of the cabinets.  They are dang amazing.  This AY has nearly everything on it new that you can purchase today.

The sides are a wood veneer with a clear finish that really looks and feels fantastic.  Then there's the chrome. It's chromed to the hilt!  There's more chrome on this baby than a '61 Buick Roadmaster.

This juke would be a great addition to any home's 50s/60s era room, game room or the highlight of even a living room.  I've got my jukes setting around a dance floor.  Now that's an idea for you to consider.  This AY is waiting here just for you.
