1963 Seeburg
45 & 33 1/3 - RPM
Jukebox
Model "LPC-1"
"Low Profile Console"
160 to 480 Selections
SOLD!
Living on a ranch in
Canyon Country, California.
The LPC-1 was the first Low
Profile Console on the market. Seeburg referred to it as Long Play
Console since it played 7 - inch records at both 45 rpm and 33 1/3.
In
1960, Seeburg had convinced the major record labels to produce the 7 -
inch discs with 6 songs on them, microgrooved. The 33's would have
one to three tunes per side, allowing this unit to offer as many as
480 tunes in living stereo.
They wanted to present middle of
the road artists such as Frank Sinatra and Tony Bennett so jukes might
be more accepted in classy lounges and restaurants. An area above the
title strip listings is provided to display 5 of the artists' picture
sleeves.
Normally the Formica on the
front edges of these models are chipped up real bad. When that is the
case, the value of these units drops dramatically. The Formica on this
one is in nice condition.
With its 40 - inch wide cabinet,
the stereo separation on this jukebox is amazing. When stereo first
came along the artists and record labels that employed it, made good
use of the separation. By the 1970's the stereo separation wasn't as
dramatic. We can show off this unit with some early stereo
demonstration records that will blow your socks off.
We ship worldwide and to insure
proper care we crate the jukeboxes ourselves. Call us with your
shipping address and we'll get you a competitive shipping/insurance
quote (prices vary according to value and destination), unless you'd
like to pick it up or have us deliver it in the Southern California
area.
Our experience in servicing
jukeboxes bought elsewhere through the Internet is that many sustain
some kind of damage in transport. When you buy a jukebox from us
we make sure the components inside are properly secured. In some
cases we can send you detailed photos and instructions on how to
unpack the unit and get it up and running.
"We only sell quality
reconditioned jukeboxes that we'll be happy to service in the future.
This we've done since 1971."
