This particular Seeburg Entertainer comes with an interesting history.  From the time it was brand new until we bought it a couple of years ago, it's been "Entertaining" vets at the Veterans of Foreign Wars hall in Burbank, CA.

But let's back up here a bit.  In the early 1980's a young reporter for the Los Angeles Daily News did a story on JUKEBOXES UNLIMITED ® and immediately fell in love with the idea of having a jukebox in his home.  The day the story published he came by our showroom and bought his first jukebox.

A quarter of a century later (now on the staff of the Hollywood Reporter) he stops by our showroom and falls in love with this Entertainer.  He trades in his "starter juke".

Now we come up to date and have the reporter (Ray) dropping by our showroom to see what we've got to offer once again.  He tells us he's refurbished his Studio City condo and sunk $50K into the wood flooring alone.  He tells us this time he wants a classic "45 - rpm box" to Entertain friends who visit his pad.  We show him several fully reconditioned jukeboxes but he points to one way in the back that hasn't been finished yet.  It's a 1958 Seeburg model 161 and we do a rush job on it.

So now this relatively rare beauty is up for adoption again.  By the way, this is the only Entertainer we've had through JUKEBOXES UNLIMITED ® in 37 years.  In comparison, we've probably rebuilt 300 to 400 Seeburg model "C"s.

This cabinet is so very "clean" it's hard to believe it's 38 years young.  In fact there was another model, the Vogue, that had the stainless steel sides and all of those we've seen have been scratched and rusty.  This jukebox has sides like a mirror.

Besides it's colorful history, this is actually one heck of a juke.  In layman's terms, there are all these little white lights that line the front of the cabinet.  They flicker along in sequence in front of a mirrored background to provide an infinity atmosphere.  Just sitting in front of this baby can be mesmerizing. It's very cool!
